Hi, I'm Chris!
Since 2020, I’ve been working as a tour guide in York, leading around a dozen tours a week for York City Sightseeing – including creating and delivering all their tours for visiting schools.
I love showing people around the city, spotting unique and quirky details, and sharing fascinating stories!
Since 2009, I’ve been running regular creative workshops for children - I’ve led over 1000 sessions in local schools, libraries, and community centres. I also lead regular workshops as a learning facilitator in museums and heritage sites, delivering activities to visiting schools. This includes Ripon Museums Trust, and 3 years of previous work at York Museums Trust (The Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum, and York Art Gallery).
Through lockdown, I ran history of York workshops on Zoom, for schools and youth groups. I’m also a professionally published writer.
I’m fully registered as a self-employed workshop leader with HMRC. I have public liability insurance for workshops and guided tours, plus regular DBS certificates. I also provide risk assessments for tours and I'm a proud member of Visit York.
